Snap Layouts organises several windows on screen automatically, without having to drag and adjust each one by hand.
- Hover the mouse over any window's maximise button (without clicking).
- Several possible layouts appear (2, 3 or 4 windows in different arrangements).
- Click the zone of the pattern where you want to place that window.
- Windows shows you the other open windows to fill in the remaining gaps.
Tip: it also works with the keyboard —
Windows + Arrow (left/right/up/down) snaps the active
window to that half or quarter of the screen, with no mouse needed at
all.
Saving combinations to go back to them
Once you've organised several windows with Snap, they show up grouped in the taskbar as a single icon — hover over it to go back to that same combination all at once.
Frequently asked questions
Does Snap Layouts work on Windows 10?
Windows 10 has a more basic version of Snap (dragging to the edges), but the visual menu with several layouts on hovering over maximise is exclusive to Windows 11.
Can I use it with just the keyboard?
Yes, Windows + Arrow (in any direction) snaps the active window to the corresponding half or quarter of the screen, with no mouse needed.
